The chess competition carries additional weight for Falcons, as they are also pursuing the overall EWC Club Championship and its $30 million prize pool. Three-Stage Format

The 2026 edition will follow a three-stage structure that mirrors the previous year:

• Play-In (August 11): Eight players will battle in a double-elimination bracket, with the winner earning a place in the main event.
• Group Stage (August 12–13): The 16-player field will be split into two groups of eight, each playing a double-elimination bracket. The top four from each group will advance.
• Playoffs (August 14–15): The remaining eight players will contest a single-elimination bracket. Quarterfinals will be four games, semifinals six games, and the Grand Final a best-of-three sets affair to determine the champion.
