Senior National Arbiter Seminar and Exam Set for Pudukkottai

The All India Chess Federation (AICF), through the Tamil Nadu State Chess Association, will conduct a Senior National Arbiter Seminar and examination at Chenduran College of Engineering in Lenavilakku, Pudukkottai District, Tamil Nadu, from 31 October to 1 November 2026.

Eligibility and Registration

Affiliated state associations may recommend candidates who are at least 17 years old, possess adequate knowledge of chess and demonstrate a genuine interest in arbiter responsibilities. Each batch will be limited to 40–45 participants.

Interested applicants should contact their respective state associations to obtain the official registration link. Only links circulated by a state association through email will be accepted. The registration form must be completed before 15 October 2026.

Fees and Selection

The seminar and examination fee is ₹4,000. Candidates approved by their state associations have been advised not to make the payment until they receive participation confirmation from AICF by email. If the online payment gateway presents difficulties, the fee may alternatively be transferred to the AICF bank account.

Following registration, a consolidated list will be sent to the relevant state associations for verification that the registration link was officially circulated. Successful candidates will receive notification by email after the registration deadline. Fees paid by candidates who are not selected will be refunded at the earliest.

Travel and Course Material

Participants must arrange their own travel and accommodation. AICF has advised them to book travel only after receiving confirmation covering both fee payment and state association approval.

The Arbiters’ Manual will be supplied at the venue, and the seminar and examination will be conducted in English. Participants are encouraged to download the FIDE Arbiters’ Manual 2025 and study the following subjects beforehand:

• Swiss Pairing Rules
• Arbiter Regulations
• Anti-Cheating Regulations
• Standards of Chess Equipment
• Competition Rules
• Basic Title Regulations

Examination and Refund Conditions

Answer scripts will not be made available, and there will be no provision for revaluation. AICF’s refund responsibility is limited to fees paid in cases of non-selection or the postponement or cancellation of the seminar because of force majeure.
