Final report :Asian Junior Open & Girls Chess Championships 2026 in Mumbai from 16-26 August 2026

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, hosted the Asian Junior Open and Girls Chess Championships 2026 from 16 to 26 August 2026. The event featured six championship categories, with classical play consisting of nine rounds and blitz and rapid each contested over seven rounds.

Classical champions

IM Mayank Chakraborty won the Open classical title with 7.5 points from nine rounds, finishing ahead of Artem Pingin on 7/9 and Daksh Goyal on 6.5/9. In the Girls classical event, WFM Pratitee Bordoloi also collected 7.5/9, with Mariya Kholyavko second on 7/9 and Nivedita V C third on 6.5/9.
