The All India Chess Federation (AICF) announced that the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championships 2026 will take place in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, from 04 to 13 November 2026. The tournament is open to players who secured a place among the top 50 in the final ranking of the National Amateur Chess Championships 2026 held in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

Event Overview

The championships bring together the world’s leading amateur chess talents for a series of rounds across ten days. Conducted under FIDE regulations, the event provides a platform for emerging players to compete on the international stage.

Eligibility Criteria

Only participants who finished among the top 50 in the final ranking list of the National Amateur Chess Championships 2026 in Hosur are eligible to enter the world event. This selection ensures that the highest‑ranking Indian amateurs represent the nation at the global contest.

Registration and Fees

Competitors must complete the registration process through the official AICF portal. The fee structure includes registration, entry, accommodation, and bank charges, but does not cover personal expenses such as flights, visas, or insurance.

  • Players – Single‑room accommodation: Rs. 1,12,190
  • Players – Double‑sharing accommodation: Rs. 92,030
  • Accompanying persons – Single‑room accommodation: Rs. 1,03,230
  • Accompanying persons – Double‑sharing accommodation: Rs. 83,070

Payments can be made online at https://prs.aicf.in/pay. All entries are subject to approval by the AICF or championship organizers.

Important Deadlines

The final date for submitting entries is 5 October 2026. A mandatory Google Form must be completed for each participant and any accompanying person. The form is accessible at https://forms.gle/p9N9YxReuMhFSaPf6.

Additional Information

Visa invitation letters will be provided to eligible participants after receipt of the necessary documentation from the organizers. Participants are responsible for arranging their own visas and travel bookings. The AICF will not cover expenses related to entry fees, registration, accommodation, tickets, visa, or insurance.
