European Youth Team Chess Championship 2026 Concludes in Pardubice

The European Youth Team Chess Championship 2026 concluded in Pardubice, Czech Republic, after seven days of competition, gathering 66 teams and 218 players across four categories: Open U12, Girls U12, Open U18, and Girls U18.

Open U12

Poland claimed the gold medal in the Open U12 section, finishing with 12 match points after five wins and two draws. The team secured the title by scoring a perfect 4-0 victory over Croatia in the final round. Ukraine finished second with 11 match points, while Serbia took the bronze with 9 match points, edging out Romania on tiebreak criteria.

Girls U12

Germany 1 won the Girls U12 category with 11 match points. The team entered the final round tied with Poland at 9 match points but secured the title by defeating Germany 3 with a 1.5-0.5 victory. Ukraine and Turkey both finished with 10 match points, with Ukraine claiming silver on tiebreaks and Turkey settling for bronze.

Open U18

Ukraine dominated the Open U18 section, finishing with 12 match points to win gold. Turkey took silver with 10 match points, while Czech Republic and Poland tied for bronze with 9 match points each. Czech Republic earned the bronze medal on tiebreak criteria.

Girls U18

Ukraine claimed another gold medal in the Girls U18 category, finishing with 12 match points and a two-point margin over runner-up Czech Republic 1, which earned silver with 10 match points. Three teams tied for third place with 9 match points: Germany 1, Romania, and Czech Republic 2. Germany 1 secured the bronze medal on tiebreaks.
